January 6, 2025: Shelton, WA 98584 Capital Cougars (Olympia, WA) boosters left the game satisfied Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Shelton Highclimbers (Shelton, WA), 38-29 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Capital upgrades its record to 3-7 on the year. The Cougars host Timberline (Lacey, WA) to face the Blazers in a 3A Puget Sound match on Wednesday, January 8. The Blazers enter the match with a record of 6-6. Timberline won 76-67 in their recent league match against Lakes (Lakewood, WA)
The Highclimbers now sport a 2-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Black Hills for a 2A Evergreen match on Wednesday, January 8. Shelton will face a Wolves squad coming off a 72-50 non-league loss to Mark Morris (Longview, WA). The Wolves record now stands at 5-5.
