The Salmen Spartans (Slidell, LA) basketball edged the host L.W. Higgins Hurricanes (Marrero, LA), 62-55 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Spartans now possess a 9-13 record. They play next when they travel to King Charter for a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 7. Salmen will play a Jaguar team coming off a 58-55 non-league win over East Jefferson (Metairie, LA). The Jaguar record now stands at 6-8.

With the loss, L.W. Higgins falls to 4-18 on the campaign. The Hurricanes travel to Holy Cross (New Orleans, LA) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 7.
