Michigan High School Basketball - Vicksburg can't hold off Portage Northern
January 6, 2025: Vicksburg, MI 49097 Portage Northern Huskies (Portage, MI) boosters left the game satisfied Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Vicksburg Bulldogs (Vicksburg, MI), 67-65 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Portage Northern upgrades its record to 5-2 on the year. The Huskies travel to St. Joseph (St. Joseph, MI) to face the Bears in a Southwestern Michigan - West match on Thursday, January 9. The Bears enter the match with a record of 1-7. St. Joseph lost 74-45 in their recent non-league match against Grand Haven (Grand Haven, MI)
The Bulldogs now sport a 3-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sturgis for a Wolverine B match on Friday, January 10. Vicksburg will face a Trojans squad coming off a 51-42 league loss to Paw Paw (Paw Paw, MI). The Trojans record now stands at 2-6.
