Iowa High School Basketball - Marion can't hold off Benton
January 7, 2022: Marion, IA 52302 The Benton Bobcats basketball team scored 46 points and held the host Marion Wolves to 39 in the Bobcats league triumph on Friday.
The Bobcats now sport a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Waverly-Shell Rock for a non-league contest on Monday, January 10. Benton will battle a Go-Hawks team coming off a 50-34 league win over Decorah-North Winneshiek (Decorah, IA). The Go-Hawks record now stands at 9-2.
The Wolves (5-5) will now prepare for their contest against South Tama County (Tama, IA). The Trojans enter the WAMAC - West contest with a 1-9 record. In their last contest, South Tama County was nudged by Clear Creek-Amana (Tiffin, IA), 54-5, in a league contest.
