New York High School Basketball - Avon tops Salamanca
January 7, 2023: Avon, NY 14414 Avon Braves (Avon, NY) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Salamanca Warriors (Salamanca, NY), 49-38 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Avon upgrades its record to 7-0 on the campaign. The Braves host Rochester Academy (Rochester, NY) to play the Racers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Racers come into the bout with a record of 3-0. Rochester Academy won 85-40 in their recent non-league bout against Addison (Addison, NY)
Next up, the Warriors play the Fredonia Hillbillies (Fredonia, NY) in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - I West bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Salamanca will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record. The Hillbillies come into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 73-51 non-league loss to Frontier (Hamburg, NY).
