Washington, DC High School Basketball - Jackson-Reed nips Hayfield
January 7, 2023: Washington, DC 20016 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Jackson-Reed Tigers (Washington, DC) and the visiting Hayfield Hawks (Alexandria, VA), saw Jackson-Reed's basketball squad hold off Hayfield by a count of 83-78.
With the victory, Jackson-Reed upgrades its record to 15-3 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Woodson (Washington, DC) to play the Warriors in a DCSAA AA challenge on Monday, January 9. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 2-7. Woodson won 64-61 in their recent league challenge against School Without Walls (Washington, DC)
Next up, the Hawks play the Mount Vernon Majors (Alexandria, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Hayfield will attempt to upgrade on its 8-1 season record. The Majors come into the challenge with a 2-7 record after their 1-0 league loss to Edison (Alexandria, VA).
