West Union Eagles (Myrtle, MS) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host McNairy Central Bobcats (Selmer, TN), 69-65 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, West Union upgrades its record to 16-3 on the campaign. The Eagles host Tremont (Tremont, MS) to play the Eagles in a 1A Region 2 bout on Thursday, January 19. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 4-7.

Next up, the Bobcats play the Dyer County Choctaws (Newbern, TN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 13. McNairy Central will attempt to upgrade on its 5-6 season record.
