Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans (Chesapeake, VA) and the visiting Northeastern Eagles (Elizabeth City, NC), saw Veritas Collegiate Academy's basketball squad hold off Northeastern by a count of 69-66.

With the victory, Veritas Collegiate Academy upgrades its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Fredericksburg Christian (Fredericksburg, VA) to play the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 11. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 4-3.

Next up, the Eagles play the Manteo Redskins (Manteo, NC) in a 2A/3A Conference 15 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Northeastern will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Redskins come into the challenge with a 10-1 record after their 39-37 league win over Pasquotank County (Elizabeth City, NC).
