January 7, 2023: Lafayette, LA 70508 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the St. Thomas More Cougars (Lafayette, LA) and the visiting Liberty Magnet Patriots (Baton Rouge, LA), saw St. Thomas More's basketball squad hold off Liberty Magnet by a tally of 42-37.
With the victory, St. Thomas More improves its record to 11-2 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Lafayette (Lafayette, LA) to confront the Lions in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 11. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 12-3. Lafayette won 53-36 in their recent non-league challenge against Warren Easton (New Orleans, LA)
Next up, the Patriots confront the Episcopal Knights (Baton Rouge, LA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Liberty Magnet will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 5-8 record after their 55-48 non-league loss to Archbishop Chapelle (Metairie, LA).
