Illinois High School Basketball - Salem can't hold off Richland County

The Richland County Tigers basketball team scored 56 points and restricted the visiting Salem Wildcats to 51 in the Tigers non-league victory on Saturday.

The Tigers now sport a 7-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Casey-Westfield for a Little Illini contest on Monday, January 9. Richland County will battle a Warriors team coming off a 43-14 non-league loss to Neoga (Neoga, IL). The Warriors record now stands at 6-18.

The Wildcats (8-10) will now prepare for their contest against Breese Central (Breese, IL). The Cougars come into the Cahokia - Mississippi contest with a 11-6 record. In their last contest, Breese Central edged Hamilton County (McLeansboro, IL), 57-17, in a non-league contest.
