In Tuesday's non-league test, the Burges Mustangs (El Paso, TX) basketball squad defeated the visiting Cathedral Fighting Irish (El Paso, TX), by a score of 57-45.

Next, the Mustangs clash with the Andress Eagles (El Paso, TX) in a 5A Region I District 1 test, on Friday, January 10. Burges will attempt to improve on its 11-12 season record. The Eagles come into the test with a 13-8 record after their 70-35 non-league win over Harmony Science Academy (El Paso, TX).
