Maine High School Basketball - Waynflete succumbs to Cape Elizabeth
January 7, 2025: Portland, ME 04102 The Cape Elizabeth Capers defeated the host Waynflete Flyers basketball team by a margin of 72-61 in Tuesday's non-league contest.
The Capers (3-6) will now prepare for their contest against Lake Region (Naples, ME). The Lakers go into the B South contest with a 2-5 record. In their last contest, Lake Region was toppled by Spruce Mountain (Jay, ME), 67-54, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Flyers confront the Old Orchard Beach Seagulls (Old Orchard Beach, ME) in a C South contest, on Thursday, January 9. Waynflete will attempt to better on its 5-4 season record. The Seagulls go into the contest with a 1-7 record after their 60-43 league loss to Monmouth Academy (Monmouth, ME).
