January 7, 2025: Pinson, AL 35126 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Mountain Brook Spartans (Birmingham, AL) and the host Clay-Chalkville Cougars (Pinson, AL), observed Mountain Brook's basketball team knock off Clay-Chalkville by a score of 59-47.
The Spartans (18-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Huffman (Birmingham, AL). The Vikings come into the 6A Area 10 challenge with a 16-3 record. In their last challenge, Huffman prevailed over Woodlawn (Birmingham, AL), 82-60, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Cougars encounter the Gardendale Rockets (Gardendale, AL) in a 6A Area 12 challenge, on Friday, January 10. Clay-Chalkville will attempt to improve on its 15-7 season record. The Rockets come into the challenge with a 7-12 record after their 70-68 league loss to Pinson Valley (Pinson, AL).
