Michigan High School Basketball - Montague routs Newaygo
January 7, 2025: Newaygo, MI 49337 In Tuesday's non-league contest, the visiting Montague Wildcats basketball team scored a big 71-42 win over the Newaygo Lions.
The Wildcats (2-7) will now prepare for their contest against Manistee (Manistee, MI). The Chippewas come into the Western Michigan Lakes - Lakes challenge with a 3-7 record. In their last challenge, Manistee trounced Hesperia (Hesperia, MI), 54-41, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Lions encounter the Big Rapids Cardinals (Big Rapids, MI) in a Central State - Gold challenge, on Friday, January 10. Newaygo will attempt to improve on its 4-4 season record. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a 6-2 record after their 61-53 non-league loss to Kenowa Hills (Grand Rapids, MI).
