January 7, 2025: Portland, CT 06480 Portland Highlanders (Portland, CT) supporters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Morgan Huskies (Clinton, CT), 39-23 in a league match.
With the victory, Portland advances its record to 2-3 on the year. The Highlanders travel to North Branford (North Branford, CT) to face the Thunderbirds in a Shoreline match on Friday, January 10. The Thunderbirds enter the match with a record of 4-2. North Branford won 54-48 in their recent league match against Old Saybrook (Old Saybrook, CT)
The Huskies now own a 1-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Old Lyme for a Shoreline match on Friday, January 10. Morgan will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 75-60 league win over East Hampton (East Hampton, CT). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-2.
