Georgia High School Basketball - Tiftarea Academy can't hold off Southland Academy
January 7, 2025: Chula, GA 31733 The Southland Academy Raiders nipped the host Tiftarea Academy Panthers basketball squad by a final score of 33-26 in Tuesday's non-league outing.
Next, the Raiders face the Sherwood Christian Academy Eagles (Albany, GA) in a GIAA AA Region 3 outing, on Friday, January 10. Southland Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Eagles enter the outing with a 7-4 record after their 49-43 non-league win over Baker County (Newton, GA).
The Panthers (1-9) will now prepare for their outing against Brookwood (Thomasville, GA). The Warriors enter the GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 outing with a 11-3 record. In their last outing, Brookwood got by Valwood (Valdosta, GA), 51-15, in a league outing.
