In Wednesday's non-league bout, the Centennial Coyotes (Peoria, AZ) basketball team were winner over the host Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ), by a tally of 63-54.

The Coyotes now possess a 11-1 record. They play next when they travel to Willow Canyon for a 5A Northwest Valley bout on Friday, January 9. Centennial will play a Wildcats team coming off a 76-66 non-league win over Desert Mountain (Scottsdale, AZ). The Wildcats record now stands at 12-3.

With the loss, Chaparral falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Firebirds travel to Arizona College Prep (Chandler, AZ) to play the Knights in a 5A East Sky bout on Thursday, January 8. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 4-10. Arizona College Prep lost 59-53 in their recent non-league test against Sahuaro (Tucson, AZ)
