In Wednesday's non-league contest, the visiting Selma Bears basketball team scored a close 59-53 triumph over the Sierra Chieftains.

The Bears (9-7) will now prepare for their contest against Central Valley Christian (Visalia, CA). The Cavaliers go into the Tri-County - Kings Canyon contest with a 14-3 record. In their last contest, Central Valley Christian nipped El Diamante (Visalia, CA), 46-44, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Chieftains confront the Chowchilla Tribe (Chowchilla, CA) in a Northwest Sequoia outing, on Tuesday, January 13. Sierra will attempt to upgrade on its 5-14 season record. The Tribe enter the outing with a 7-11 record after their 55-51 non-league loss to Mendota (Mendota, CA).
