The Buckeye Hawks basketball squad (Buckeye, AZ), lost 45-25 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Horizon Huskies (Scottsdale, AZ)

With the victory, Horizon advances its record to 10-4 on the year. The Huskies host Mountain Pointe (Phoenix, AZ) to battle the Pride in a 5A East Sky contest on Thursday, January 8. The Pride come into the contest with a record of 8-3. Mountain Pointe lost 89-21 in their recent league contest against Campo Verde (Gilbert, AZ)

In their next game, the Hawks battle the Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ) in a 5A Desert West contest, on Thursday, January 8. Buckeye will attempt to better on its 9-6 season record. The Scorpions enter the match with a 4-9 record after their 42-37 non-league loss to Benjamin Franklin (Queen Creek, AZ).
