Clinton Warriors (Clinton, NY) backers were pleased Sunday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils (Verona, NY), 60-59 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Clinton upgrades its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Warriors host Waterville (Waterville, NY) to play the Indians in a Section 3 Center State III bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 7-1. Waterville won 81-31 in their recent league bout against Sherburne-Earlville (Sherburne, NY)

Next up, the Red Devils play the Camden Blue Devils (Camden, NY) in a Section 3 Tri-Valley - Pioneer bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record.
