Michigan High School Basketball - Negaunee overwhelms Calumet
January 8, 2024: Calumet, MI 49913 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Negaunee Miners (Negaunee, MI) and the host Calumet Copper Kings (Calumet, MI), saw Negaunee's basketball squad wallop Calumet by a tally of 63-31.
With the victory, Negaunee improves its record to 9-3 on the campaign. The Miners host Ishpeming (Ishpeming, MI) to confront the Hematites in a Mid-Peninsula challenge on Friday, January 12. The Hematites come into the challenge with a record of 7-3. Ishpeming lost 57-51 in their recent non-league challenge against Marquette (Marquette, MI)
Next up, the Copper Kings confront the West Iron County Wykons (Iron River, MI) in a Western Peninsula challenge, on Wednesday, January 10. Calumet will attempt to improve on its 5-3 season record. The Wykons come into the challenge with a 0-9 record after their 72-36 non-league loss to Norway (Norway, MI).
