California High School Basketball - Berkeley holds off Richmond
January 8, 2024: Richmond, CA 94804 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Berkeley Yellowjackets (Berkeley, CA) and the host Richmond Oilers (Richmond, CA), saw Berkeley's basketball squad hold off Richmond by a tally of 2-0.
With the victory, Berkeley improves its record to 3-9 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Alameda (Alameda, CA) to confront the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Hornets come into the challenge with a record of 9-3. Alameda lost 51-49 in their recent non-league challenge against Encinal (Alameda, CA)
Next up, the Oilers confront the Albany Cougars (Albany, CA) in a Tri-County - Stone challenge, on Wednesday, January 10. Richmond will attempt to improve on its 11-4 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 8-6 record after their 48-3 league win over Hercules (Hercules, CA).
