Maryland High School Basketball - Gerstell Academy tops Westminster
January 8, 2024: Westminster, MD 21157 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Gerstell Academy (Finksburg, MD) and the host Westminster Owls (Westminster, MD), saw Gerstell Academy's basketball squad knock off Westminster by a count of 51-39.
With the victory, Gerstell Academy upgrades its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The host St. Paul's Girls (Brooklandville, MD) to play the Gators in a IAAM B challenge on Wednesday, January 10. The Gators come into the challenge with a record of 1-3. St. Paul's Girls lost 49-36 in their recent league challenge against John Carroll (Bel Air, MD)
Next up, the Owls play the Francis Scott Key Eagles (Union Bridge, MD) in a Carroll County challenge, on Wednesday, January 10. Westminster will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 6-2 record after their 55-25 league win over Century (Sykesville, MD).
