Virginia High School Basketball - Hickory can't hold off Norfolk Collegiate
January 9, 2023: Chesapeake, VA 23322 The Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks basketball team scored 41 points and restricted the host Hickory Hawks to 39 in the Mighty Oaks non-league victory on Monday.
The Mighty Oaks now sport a 2-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Steward for a TCIS contest on Tuesday, January 10. Norfolk Collegiate will battle a Spartans team coming off a 36-31 non-league win over Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, VA). The Spartans record now stands at 10-4.
The Hawks (2-8) will now prepare for their contest against Grassfield (Chesapeake, VA). The Grizzlies come into the Southeastern contest with a 7-4 record. In their last contest, Grassfield edged Indian River (Chesapeake, VA), 56-40, in a league contest.
