Arlington Spy Ponders (Arlington, MA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Stoneham Spartans (Stoneham, MA), 53-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Arlington upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Spy Ponders host Reading Memorial (Reading, MA) to clash with the Rockets in a Middlesex bout on Friday, January 12. The Rockets go into the bout with a record of 5-1.

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Northeast Metro RVT Knights (Wakefield, MA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 10. Stoneham will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 3-4 record after their 59-46 non-league loss to Swampscott (Swampscott, MA).
