Alabama High School Basketball - Clay-Chalkville overwhelms Southside
January 9, 2024: Pinson, AL 35126 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Clay-Chalkville Cougars (Pinson, AL) and the visiting Southside Panthers (Gadsden, AL), saw Clay-Chalkville's basketball squad wallop Southside by a tally of 63-36.
With the victory, Clay-Chalkville improves its record to 16-7 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Mortimer Jordan (Kimberly, AL) to confront the Blue Devils in a 6A Area 12 challenge on Friday, January 12. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a record of 15-6. Mortimer Jordan lost 58-49 in their recent league challenge against Pinson Valley (Pinson, AL)
Next up, the Panthers confront the Alexandria Valley Cubs (Alexandria, AL) in a 5A Area 12 challenge, on Friday, January 12. Southside will attempt to improve on its 4-12 season record.
