January 9, 2025: Bethesda, MD 20817 The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Landon Bears (Bethesda, MD) and the visiting Sandy Spring Friends Wildebeests (Sandy Spring, MD), observed Landon's basketball team overcome Sandy Spring Friends by a score of 55-45.
The Bears (5-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Saint James (Hagerstown, MD). The Saints come into the non-league challenge with a 4-8 record. In their last challenge, Saint James dropped by Potomac School (McLean, VA), 71-44, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Wildebeests battle the Friendship Collegiate Academy Knights (Washington, DC) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 11. Sandy Spring Friends will attempt to improve on its 4-12 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 0-8 record after their 69-51 league loss to KIPP College Prep (Washington, DC).
