Illinois High School Basketball - Mt. Zion can't hold off Paris
January 9, 2025: Paris, IL 61944 Paris Tigers (Paris, IL) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Mt. Zion Braves (Mt. Zion, IL), 49-42 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Paris advances its record to 12-4 on the year. The Tigers travel to Casey-Westfield (Casey, IL) to face the Warriors in a Little Illini match on Friday, January 10. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 9-11.
The Braves now own a 9-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Effingham for a Apollo match on Saturday, January 11. Mt. Zion will face a Hearts squad coming off a 67-39 non-league win over Sullivan (Sullivan, IL). The Hearts record now stands at 14-3.
