Virginia High School Basketball - New Covenant nips Veritas School

In Thursday's non-league contest, the host New Covenant Gryphons basketball team scored a close 47-43 win over the Veritas School Lions.

The Gryphons (7-4) will now prepare for their contest against Carlisle (Axton, VA). The Chiefs come into the VISAA Blue Ridge contest with a 8-3 record.

In their next game, the Lions battle the St. Margaret's Scotties (Tappahannock, VA) in a LIS contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Veritas School will attempt to better on its 1-3 season record. The Scotties come into the contest with a 7-4 record after their 64-55 non-league loss to Steward (Richmond, VA).
