Illinois High School Basketball - Urbana University can't hold off Unity Christian
January 9, 2025: Urbana, IL 61801 Unity Christian Lions (Decatur, IL) boosters left the game satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Urbana University Illineks (Urbana, IL), 43-36 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Unity Christian upgrades its record to 7-8 on the year. The Lions host Villa Grove (Villa Grove, IL) to face the Blue Devils in a Lincoln Prairie match on Monday, January 13. The Blue Devils enter the match with a record of 2-8. Villa Grove lost 61-24 in their recent non-league match against Tuscola (Tuscola, IL)
The Illineks now sport a 3-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Arthur-Okaw Christian for a East Central Illinois match on Monday, January 13. Urbana University will face a Conquering Riders squad coming off a 45-36 non-league loss to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City (Cowden, IL). The Conquering Riders record now stands at 11-4.
