In Friday's league contest, the visiting St. Michael Cardinals basketball team scored a good 54-42 triumph over the El Capitan Eagles.

The Cardinals (5-10) will now prepare for their contest against Fredonia (Fredonia, AZ). The Lynx go into the 1A North contest with a 0-8 record. In their last contest, Fredonia was topped by Shonto Prep (Shonto, AZ), 66-63, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the BASIS Flagstaff Yetis (Flagstaff, AZ) in a 1A North match, on Saturday, January 10. El Capitan will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Yetis enter the match with a 6-6 record after their 49-16 non-league win over Heritage Academy (Laveen, AZ).
