Arizona High School Soccer - Mountain Ridge knocks off Valley Vista
January 9, 2026: Surprise, AZ 85374 Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions (Glendale, AZ) boosters exited the stadium pleased Friday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the host Valley Vista Monsoon (Surprise, AZ), 4-1 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Mountain Ridge moves its record to 4-3 on the campaign. The Mountain Lions host Liberty (Peoria, AZ) to clash with the Lions in a 6A Desert Valley test on Wednesday, January 14. The Lions come into the test with a record of 12-2.
The Monsoon now sport a 1-7 record. They play next when they travel to South Mountain for a non-league outing on Wednesday, January 14. Valley Vista will confront a Jaguars squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Desert Ridge (Mesa, AZ). The Jaguars record now stands at 2-5.
