California High School Volleyball - Canyon can't hold off El Dorado
October 1, 2024: Anaheim, CA 92807 In Tuesday's league match, the El Dorado Golden Hawks (Placentia, CA) volleyball squad tipped the host Canyon Comanches (Anaheim, CA), by a final score of 3-2.
Next up, the Golden Hawks confront the Crean Lutheran Saints (Irvine, CA) in a Crestview match, on Thursday, October 3. El Dorado will attempt to advance on its 16-10 season record. The Saints enter the match with a 10-12 record after their 3-0 league loss to Canyon (Anaheim, CA).
The Comanches (13-8) will now prepare for their match against Sunny Hills (Fullerton, CA). The Lancers enter the Crestview match with a 19-5 record. In their last match, Sunny Hills held off Foothill (Santa Ana, CA), 3-0, in a league match.

Anaheim Hills, CA — October 1, 2024 — In a thrilling match filled with grit and determination, the Canyon High School Comanches volleyball team narrowly fell to El Dorado High School in a fiercely contested five-set showdown.
The Comanches showed tremendous fight throughout the match, starting with a hard-fought 1st set, ultimately falling just short with a score of 26-24. El Dorado maintained their momentum in the 2nd set, pulling ahead to win 25-20.
Not to be discouraged, Canyon High regrouped and came back strong in the 3rd and 4th sets. With sharp plays and resilient defense, the Comanches claimed victories in both sets, winning 25-21 and 25-20, forcing a decisive 5th set.
In a dramatic conclusion to the match, both teams battled point-for-point in the final set. Despite the Comanches’ relentless efforts, El Dorado clinched the victory in an intense 16-14 finish.
