Metro-East Lutheran Knights (Edwardsville, IL) followers left the game satisfied Wednesday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting East Alton-Wood River Oilers (Wood River, IL), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Knights (7-18) will now prepare for their challenge against Christ Our Rock Lutheran (Centralia, IL). The Silver Stallions come into the Gateway Metro challenge with a 6-14 record. In their last challenge, Christ Our Rock Lutheran lost by Althoff Catholic (Belleville, IL), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Oilers play the Columbia Eagles (Columbia, IL) in a Cahokia (Mississippi Division) challenge, on Thursday, October 2.
