October 2, 2024: Mayodan, NC 27027 McMichael Phoenix (Mayodan, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Wednesday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting Grimsley Whirlies (Greensboro, NC), 2-0 in a non-league test.
With the win, McMichael improves its record to 8-1 on the season. The Phoenix host T.W. Andrews (High Point, NC) to face the Red Raiders in a non-league test on Tuesday, October 8. The Red Raiders go into the test with a record of 2-8.
The Whirlies now own a 3-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Southwest Guilford for a non-league test on Thursday, October 3. Grimsley will face a Cowboys squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Bishop McGuinness (Kernersville, NC). The Cowboys record now stands at 7-11.
