Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Monroe Trojans (Monroe, MI) and the host Lincoln Railsplitters (Ypsilanti, MI), observed Monroe's volleyball team hold off Lincoln by a count of 2-1.

The Trojans (4-14) will now prepare for their contest against Huron (Ann Arbor, MI). The River Rats enter the South Eastern - Red battle with a 0-14 record. In their last battle, Huron was edged by Bedford (Temperance, MI), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Railsplitters now own a 7-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Jackson for a South Eastern - White battle on Tuesday, October 7.
