In Thursday's non-league match, the host Mustang Broncos softball team scored a tight 5-4 win over the Elgin Owls.

The Broncos (25-8) will now prepare for their match against Norman North (Norman, OK). The Timberwolves come into the non-league match with a 19-12 record. In their last match, Norman North nipped Piedmont (Piedmont, OK), 4-2, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Owls clash with the Cache Bulldogs (Cache, OK) in a non-league bout, on Monday, October 7. Elgin will attempt to advance on its 16-20 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 21-17 record after their 1-0 non-league win over Bethany (Bethany, OK).
