Kansas High School Football - Chanute holds off Independence
October 3, 2025: Chanute, KS 66720 The Chanute Blue Comets football squad scored 27 points and limited the visiting Independence Bulldogs to 20 in the Blue Comets league triumph on Friday.
The Blue Comets now sport a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fort Scott for a Southeast Kansas game on Friday, October 10. Chanute will battle a Tigers team coming off a 28-7 league loss to Labette County (Altamont, KS). The Tigers record now stands at 1-4.
The Bulldogs (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Eudora (Eudora, KS). The Cardinals enter the non-league game with a 4-1 record. In their last game, Eudora held off Louisburg (Louisburg, KS), 35-7, in a league outing.
