In Friday's league match, the visiting Downers Grove South Mustangs football squad scored a decisive 57-6 triumph over the Proviso East Pirates.

The Mustangs (2-4) will now prepare for their match against Hinsdale South (Darien, IL). The Hornets come into the West Suburban - Gold match with a 1-5 record. In their last match, Hinsdale South was routed by Glenbard West (Glen Ellyn, IL), 63-0, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Pirates confront the Addison Trail Blazers (Addison, IL) in a West Suburban - Gold match, on Friday, October 10. Proviso East will attempt to improve on its 1-5 season record. The Blazers go into the battle with a 5-1 record after their 46-6 league win over Leyden (Franklin Park, IL).
