The Hastings Saxons football squad scored 54 points and limited the host Marshall Redhawks to 40 in the Saxons league triumph on Friday.

The Saxons now have a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Harper Creek for a Interstate Eight challenge on Friday, October 10. Hastings will face a Beavers team coming off a 46-8 league win over Western (Parma, MI). The Beavers record now stands at 5-1.

With the defeat, Marshall drops to 2-4 on the campaign. The Redhawks host Pennfield (Battle Creek, MI) to clash with the Panthers in a Interstate Eight outing on Friday, October 10. The Panthers enter the game with a record of 2-4. Pennfield lost 33-6 in their recent league game against Coldwater (Coldwater, MI)
