The Mayfield Trojans football team (Las Cruces, NM), was crushed 50-6 in Friday's league bout with the visiting Lovington Wildcats (Lovington, NM)

With the win, Lovington advances its record to 3-4 on the season. The Wildcats host Gadsden (Anthony, NM) to confront the Panthers in a 5A District 2 contest on Friday, October 17. The Panthers enter the contest with a record of 4-3. Gadsden lost 33-14 in their recent league contest against Roswell (Roswell, NM)

Coming up next, the Trojans confront the Goddard Rockets (Roswell, NM) in a 5A District 2 contest, on Thursday, October 16. Mayfield will attempt to better on its 2-5 season record. The Rockets go into the bout with a 5-2 record after their 40-33 league win over Deming (Deming, NM).
