The New Athens Yellow Jackets volleyball team (New Athens, IL), was edged 2-1 in Tuesday's non-league challenge with the visiting Trico Pioneers (Campbell Hill, IL)

The Pioneers (24-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Sesser-Valier (Sesser, IL). The Red Devils come into the Black Diamond West challenge with a 6-14 record. In their last challenge, Sesser-Valier was edged by Christopher (Christopher, IL), 2-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Yellow Jackets encounter the Lebanon Greyhounds (Lebanon, IL) in a Cahokia (Kaskaskia Division) challenge, on Tuesday, October 11. New Athens will attempt to move on its 4-18 season record.
