The El Capitan Vaqueros (Lakeside, CA) football were winner over the host Monte Vista Monarchs (Spring Valley, CA), 38-21 in Friday's league outing.

The Vaqueros now sport a 3-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Valhalla for a Grossmont - Valley outing on Friday, October 11. El Capitan will clash with a Norsemen squad coming off a 31-14 league win over Santana (Santee, CA). The Norsemen record now stands at 3-3.
