Gardendale Rockets (Gardendale, AL) boosters were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Hueytown Golden Gophers (Hueytown, AL), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Rockets (9-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Fultondale (Birmingham, AL). The Wildcats come into the non-league challenge with a 2-9 record. In their last challenge, Fultondale was beaten by Cordova (Cordova, AL), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Golden Gophers meet the Shades Valley Mounties (Birmingham, AL) in a non-league test, on Saturday, October 4. Hueytown will attempt to advance on its 11-13 season record. The Mounties go into the test with a 9-8 record after their 3-0 league loss to Pell City (Pell City, AL).
