October 4, 2025: Red Lake, MN 56671 Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds (Mahnomen, MN) boosters left the game in high spirits Saturday as they observed their volleyball team overcome the host Red Lake Warriors (Red Lake, MN), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Thunderbirds (6-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County] (Newfolden, MN). The Northern Freeze go into the non-league test with a 7-12 record. In their last test, Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County] achieved victory over Warren-Alvarado-Oslo (Warren, MN), 3-0, in a non-league test.
The Warriors now own a 1-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Laporte for a non-league test on Monday, October 6. Red Lake will meet a Wildcats team coming off a 3-1 league win over Walker-Hackensack-Akeley (Walker, MN). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-6.
