The Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes football team (Pojoaque, NM), was knocked off 28-6 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM)

The Hornets (4-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Belen (Belen, NM). The Eagles come into the 5A District 1/5 challenge with a 0-7 record. In their last challenge, Belen was knocked off by Goddard (Roswell, NM), 57-7, in a non-league challenge.

The Elks/Elkettes now sport a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Moriarty for a 4A District 2 challenge on Friday, October 13. Pojoaque Valley will meet a Pintos team coming off a 24-14 non-league loss to St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM). The Pintos record now stands at 4-3.
