Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT) backers left the game in high spirits Friday as they observed their volleyball squad top the visiting Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT), 3-1 in a league match.

Next up, the Panthers battle the Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars (Bridgeport, CT) in a Southwest-Colonial match, on Friday, October 14. Pomperaug will attempt to better on its 7-3 season record.

With the loss, Newtown drops to 5-7 on the campaign. The Nighthawks travel to Darien (Darien, CT) to battle the Blue Wave in a non-league match on Monday, October 10. The Blue Wave come into the match with a record of 7-4. Darien won 3-0 in their recent league match against Warde (Fairfield, CT)
