The Hueytown Golden Gophers held off the host Pinson Valley Indians volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Golden Gophers now have a 14-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host McAdory for a 6A Area 8 test on Thursday, October 14.

The Indians (4-13) will now prepare for their test against Clay-Chalkville (Pinson, AL). The Cougars enter the non-league test with a 19-10 record. In their last test, Clay-Chalkville held off Woodlawn (Birmingham, AL), 3-0, in a non-league test.
