The Sutherland Sailors (Sutherland, NE) football edged the visiting Perkins County Plainsmen (Grant, NE), 22-20 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Sailors face the Bayard Tigers (Bayard, NE) in a D1 District 11 (8 Man) bout, on Friday, October 15. Sutherland will attempt to advance on its 3-3 season record. The Tigers enter the bout with a 3-4 record after their 74-2 league win over Hemingford (Hemingford, NE).

The Plainsmen (5-2) will now prepare for their bout against Alma (Alma, NE). The Cardinals enter the non-league bout with a 3-4 record. In their last bout, Alma nudged Elm Creek (Elm Creek, NE), 58-6, in a league bout.
