In Thursday's non-league game, the Sands Mustangs (Ackerly, TX) football squad knocked off the host Motley County Matadors (Matador, TX), by a margin of 69-60.

The Mustangs now sport a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wilson for a 1A 6 Man 2 Region I District 4 (6 Man) outing on Friday, October 10. Sands will clash with a Mustangs squad coming off a 14-0 non-league loss to Meadow (Meadow, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 0-5.

With the defeat, Motley County falls to 6-1 on the year. The Matadors host Patton Springs (Afton, TX) to battle the Rangers in a game on Friday, October 10. The Rangers enter the game with a record of 0-0.
